 Lydia Lau
Lydia Lau is a lecturer in the School of Computing. She has worked in the field of Information Systems, in particular, the effective use of collaborative systems for group working in the past twenty years. The range of group activities includes communications, information /knowledge sharing and process support. She firmly believes that people issues and work practices should be addressed early and fed into the design process of any collaborative systems to ensure these are "fit-for-purpose". The new challenges posed by the ever-changing technologies which are becoming more pervasive demand a constant review of the assumptions and techniques used in requirements capture, analysis and specification.
Her current projects focus on research communities and how collaborative systems can facilitate their formation and sustainability.
