 Fan Yang-Turner
Dr. Fan Yang-Turner is a Research Fellow in Requirements and Systems Architecture at the School of Computing. She is working on the EU-funded project, DICODE (Mastering Data-Intensive Collaboration and Decision Making). Her research involves the areas of Requirement Engineering, Systems Architecture and Collaborative Computing.
Prior to this role, she has held several positions in the software industry including: a System Analyst at University College London (2008-2009), a Principal Architect at m35 Ltd, later bought by Thomson Reuters (2006-2008) and a Senior Application Specialist in Nokia China (2000-2003).
She obtained her PhD (2003-2006) from University of Birmingham under the supervision of Prof. Chris Baber. In her PhD, she studied the groupware design issues relating to team performance in high-pressure time-critical collaborative environments. In addition, she also holds a Masters’ degree (1996-1999) and a Bachelors’ degree (1992-1996) in Computer Science from Dalian University of Technology, China.
