Selecting a Title
The title is important. It is the first thing anyone will know about the project, therefore selecting a good title can help in forming a good first impression. In particular, the title should identify the project as forming part of a programme of study untertaken within the School of Computing.Good titles avoid:
| "An investigation into..."
"A study of..." | All projects investigate/study. |
| "Creating a..."
"Developing a..." | The product should involve more than creating/developing |
| "Website to..."
"...Website..." | The project should involve more than merely the creation of a Website. |
| "The teaching of..." | It is not clear how this relates to any of the degree programmes. |
As part of quality assurance procedures project titles are vetted. Inappropriate titles will be referred even where project aims and objectives are considered appropriate.
