FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

Selecting a Title

The title is important. It is the first thing anyone will know about the project, therefore selecting a good title can help in forming a good first impression. In particular, the title should identify the project as forming part of a programme of study untertaken within the School of Computing.

Good titles avoid:

"An investigation into..."
"A study of..."
All projects investigate/study.
"Creating a..."
"Developing a..."
The product should involve more than creating/developing
"Website to..."
"...Website..."
The project should involve more than merely the creation of a Website.
"The teaching of..."It is not clear how this relates to any of the degree programmes.

As part of quality assurance procedures project titles are vetted. Inappropriate titles will be referred even where project aims and objectives are considered appropriate.
