Penalties for Late Submission

Penalties will be deducted for late submission of the Project Report unless there are extenuating circumstances (e.g. illness or family bereavement). The University penalty for late submission is 5% (i.e. 5 marks) for each calendar day or part thereof for which the project is late. Any submission resulting in assessment after the external examiners have confirmed grades will result in the student being unable to graduate until the following year.

Students who believe they may have extenuating circumstances for the late submission of their report should contact their supervisor and project coordinator as soon as possible, and certainly in advance of the submission date.

All students who submit their reports late must contact the project coordinator on the day of, or the day after, the submission date, whether or not they are claiming extenuating circumstances. This is to allow special arrangements to be made for the examination of late reports.
