Opportunity Tracking Tool (OTT) - Dynamic Web Application

Consulting Leeds handles consultancy enquiries made to the University of Leeds from businesses in need of help or advice from academics. With over 2,600 research staff working at the university, matching companies to researchers with the skills required can be a difficult and time consuming task.

Consulting Leeds commissioned Leeds Source-IT to develop an Opportunity Tracking Tool (OTT) to simplify the process and ensure that business contacts are put in touch with the right person as quickly as possible.

OTT consists of a web based system where academic staff can register their research interests and Consulting Leeds staff can record the enquiries they receive. OTT automatically contacts registered academics whose skills match new enquiries as soon as they are added and also provides the list of academics to Consulting Leeds for follow up. A user-friendly web interface and MySQL database backend make the system readily modifiable should needs change in the future.
