Infrastructure and Methodologies
Leeds SourceIT uses agile development methodogies designed to minimise risk by developing software in short amounts of time. Each time unit (iteration) passes through a full software development cycle: including planning, requirement analysis, design, writing unit tests, and then coding until unit test is passed and working product is finally demonstrated to stakeholders with documentation.
Agile methods emphasise face-to-face communication over written documents with team composition being cross-functional and self-organising with a customer representative. The infrastructure setup using the agile methodology provides benefits to the client include a code repository and storing documentation. This allows LSIT to keep a corporate memory even after students have left the consultancy. Other benefits include technical quality assurance.
