THIS PILOT SCHEME HAS NOW COMPLETED - 31 MARCH 2010
Leeds Source-IT Consultancy
Leeds Source-IT is a consultancy service staffed by high calibre Computing student programmers and managed by experienced staff. We undertake self contained projects on a fixed price basis. All projects are tightly specified up front and undertaken using Agile Programming techniques, monitored on-line with dedicated project management software and client sign off stages.
Student skills offered include languages, such as Actionscript, C#, Java, Python, PHP, MySQL, Perl, and frameworks, such as Visual Studio (.NET) and Eclipse. Leeds Source-IT student programmers are given training in project management, professional skills and time management. Staff programme managers ensure that client expectations are met and all projects are completed to time and to budget.
Leeds Source-IT provide solutions for small projects, including writing new applications, adding features to larger projects already developed or migrating code from one language to another, and dynamic websites with database back ends. Contracts may be carried out by one or more students working part time during term time or full time over vacation periods. Typically projects will last between 2 weeks and 3 months.
