Water Waves: a boundary integral approach
Dr Mark Preston, Department of Mathematics, University
of York
We use a novel boundary integral formulation to solve a two-dimensional
/ half-plane water wave problem. We can then define a numerical scheme
that is super-algebraically convergent and present results that
demonstrate this. The talk will include the equivalence of the
second-order PDE and the BIE, a few nice results from potential theory,
numerical integration and differentiation techniques over the real line
and how accurate a numerical approximation to a numerical approximation
can be.
