Research for UK Business: Making it Work, Mourad Kara, Cable and Wireless
The aim of this seminar is to address the need for graduates and research practitioners to be aware of, actively contribute and influence the right business environment to deliver research and innovation in/for UK businesses where appropriate. The seminar will review the research cycle and its relationship to research labs, standard institutions and business (product developments). The review will include some research problems faced by Internet & Telecom industries.
This talk will also discuss current challenges faced by UK companies in investing in research for medium to long term. The discussion will mention the research and culture in UK PLC compared to other countries such as USA and in Europe.
