I am a lecturer in the School of Computing at the University of Leeds and a member of the Lifelong Learning Institute. I am a Member of the British Computer Society, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the British Educational Association.
This year I'm teaching Professional Development with Jill Duggleby.
My research is concerned with the nature of a higher education and the concept of an academic discipline. I am particularly interested in the emergence of computer science as an academic discipline. The transitions project is investigating the transition from university study to work with a particular emphasis on studying computing and working in the IT industry.
