Katja Markert

Reader and Natural Language Group Leader in the School of  Computer Science  at Leeds University. 

Mainly interested in automatic treatment of lexical semantics, pragmatics and discourse phenomena, including opinion mining, figurative language resolution, anaphora resolution and the recognition of discourse relations. I am also interested in multimodal approaches, integrating text and vision. I am looking for new PhD students in these subjects as well as students interested in applications of discourse to textual entailment or machine translation.
