Internship Contract Requirements

To complete your contract to work as an Intern in the School of Computing, successful candiates are required to provide:

Final Deliverables for Research Internship

  1. Project Poster
  2. Short Personal Relection

Project Poster

The posters focus on the research work that interns have completed and are for display in the School of Computing Long Room. Two templates are provided below and previous posters can be viewed in Previous Internships

Short Personal Reflective

This deliverable is a short personal reflection on your time as an intern. The length expected is literally a couple of paragraphs (up to a page) written in the first person which give a flavour of what it meant to you to be a research intern and to be a member of staff (rather than a student) in the dept.

A list of questions below gives an idea of the sorts of things for possible reflection. You may choose to focus on just a selection of these things that reflect your experience more specifically:

Please note that, although quotes from the reflective pieces may be used in subsequent reports and publications, no individual will be identified at any time.

Health and Safety

As part of your Research Internship, you are expected to understand and know the health and safety procedures within the School of Computing. Further information can be located in the School of Computing Wiki under Health and Safety and the Faculty of Enginering Intranet on Health and Safety> (NB. This can only be accessed from the university computer network)

Please know who your fire warden is for the level you are working on, the current first aiders and the lab manager for your lab. This information is available on the Wiki.
