Mathsclub is a self help group within the school of computing. I gave the introductory stats courses during May 2008 These are the notes/overheads. They are a bit rough but might be useful to someone.

• Probability 1 (for dummies:-)
• Stats 1 (averages and deviations)
• Probability 2 (Trials and distributions)
  • c++ code to generate the geometric distribution assuming that you throw a dice until you get a 6, and count how many throws it takes, and do this 10000 times
  • c++ code to generate the Binomial distribution assuming that you throw a dice 50 times and count the number of sixes, then do that again 1000 times and work out the distribution
