Dr Paul Townend
Paul Townend
Paul Townend is a Research Fellow at the School of Computing, University of Leeds. Paul gained his BSc. and MSc. degrees in Computer Science at the University of Durham in 2000 and 2002 respectively, and his PhD from the University of Leeds in 2006.
Paul's research interests include fault tolerance, fault injection, Grid computing, web services, provenance techniques, JSR-168 compatible portlets, and distributed storage, and he has published a number of papers in these areas.
He is currently working on the development of a Grid infrastructure to support social science experiments that are being developed as part of the "Modelling and Simulation for e-Social Science" (MoSeS) project (involving researchers in domains as diverse as Healthcare, Business and Transport.) In addition to this, he plays a leading role in the ongoing research collaboration between the University of Leeds (UK) and the University of Beihang (China).
Paul is editor of the "Dependable Systems" topic area of IEEE Distributed Systems Online, is the maintainer of the Distributed Systems and Services group website, and longs for the days when he had spare time. |
