Professor Jie Xu
 Jie Xu Jie Xu is Chair of Computing at Leeds University, and leads the research at Leeds on Distributed Systems and Internet Computing. He has worked in the field of dependable distributed systems and fault-tolerant computing for over eighteen years. In 1990 he joined the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and received the PhD degree there in Advanced Fault-Tolerant Software. In 1998 he moved on to the University of Durham, and in 2004 he moved to the University of Leeds.
Professor Xu has published more than 120 edited books, book chapters and academic papers in areas of computer system fault diagnosis, fault-tolerant software and dependable distributed systems.
Professor Xu was the winner of the 2002 BCS Brendan Murphy Prize for his work with Professor Brian Randell and Dr. Alexander Romanovsky (both at Newcastle), and heads the University of Leeds Distributed Systems & Services group. |
