Duncan Russell
Duncan Russell is a Senior Research Officer working on the Network Enabled Capability (NEC) project in the School of Computing at the University of Leeds. The NEC work at Leeds aims to extend the knowledge of architectures for systems of systems.
Duncan completed his PhD thesis on Secure Service-based Collaborative Workflow after working on the DAME project under Professor Peter Dew at Leeds in 2007. He completed a BEng in Electronic System Engineering at Kingston University back in 1994. Duncan completed 3 years in the Cordless Communications Division at Philips Research Laboratories, Redhill, UK (1 year Industrial Trainee in the BEng sandwich + 2 years as a Research Scientist). Following this, he spent 6 years working in R+D at BSS Audio, designing professional audio equipment (software and hardware) for install and live audio markets.
During his time at BSS Audio, Duncan lead the project for Soundweb embedded products and instigated the current generation of Soundweb, now released as Soundweb-London. The Soundweb products are networked DSP units for distributed and configurable audio processing. |
