I have finished my master thesis on "Navigation Services for Wheelchair
Users Consideration of Special Physical Demands in Computer-based Wayfinding"
at the Institute of Geoinformatics, University of Muenster. My adviser was
Werner Kuhn. I have now started working on my Ph.D. at Christian Freksa's
Cognitive Systems Group at the University of Bremen. I am at the very beginning
of my work and haven't focused my field of research, yet. This is also the
main problem I am working on at the moment.
My ideas for further work base on my master thesis. I am thinking about
possibilities to improve the communication between user and service (to
state user's requirements) by use of personalization and context awareness.
Werner Kuhn suggested to take a look at ontologies and there capability
to describe users and their varieties concerning different tasks (e.g. the
task of navigation from a wheelchair user's point of view compared to a
pedestrian's point of few).
