Instructions
Attendance at Conference: By submitting a paper you are asserting that at least one author capable of presenting the submitted material will attend the conference. Papers for which no author attends will be removed from the programme and, where possible, from the published proceedings.
Language: The official language of the conference is English. Papers in other languages cannot be accepted.
Formatting: The page limit is 10 pages, including all figures, references and appendices. Margins, fonts, etc. should match the specified formatting guidelines - see the example paper. Papers significantly violating the guidelines, e.g. overlength or double-column, will be summarily rejected without review.
LaTeX/Word: We strongly encourage all authors to prepare their manuscripts using LaTeX and the provided template. Authors who insist on using Microsoft Word are requested to follow the formatting in the provided word document carefully. Note that the Word template has been significantly updated since 2007 - please ensure you use the latest version
Double Blind Review: BMVC reviewing is double blind: authors do not know the names of the reviewers/area chairs of their papers, and the reviewers/area chairs do not know the names of the authors. Please read Section 1.3 of the example paper for instructions on how to preserve anonymity. Note in particular that this does not mean that references to authors' previous work shoud be omitted. Papers which clearly break the requirements for anonymity, e.g. by inclusion of authors' names, will be summarily rejected without review.
Dual Submission: By submitting a paper to BMVC, the authors assert that it has not been published or concurrently submitted elsewhere in substantially similar form. Please see Section 1.2 of the example paper for the policy and details of how to refer to previous work or related submissions to other conferences/journals. Papers which clearly violate this policy will be summarily rejected without review.
Supplemental Material: Supplemental material may be uploaded via the CAWS submission system. This should be a single file e.g. zip/tar file not exceeding 30MB in size. Relevant supplemental material might include videos, appendices, or anonymous unpublished work. Note that supplemental material should not include "things which didn't fit in the paper" e.g. additional figures/text/appendices without which the paper is incomplete. If including videos, please ensure that these are easy for reviewers to play, e.g. use commonly-available formats and test playback on both Windows and Linux.
