Vacancies
Two Postdoctoral Fellowships available immediately
Position 1: Fluorescent imaging for the study of locomotion activity in the nematode C. elegans
A postdoctoral position is now available to work on this EPSRC funded project to study the C. elegans locomotion nervous system. The post will involve the use of fluorescent imaging tools to record C. elegans neuronal and/or muscle activity. The development of novel imaging tools is a possible extension of the project. Experience in C. elegans neurobiology is a plus, but not a requirement. Experience in microscopy and fluorescent imaging is required. If you are keen to be involved in a cutting-edge multidisciplinary project, and have the background in some of the relevant disciplines (including experimental physics, chemistry or biochemistry, microscopy and imaging) please get in touch with

Position 2: Modelling of biological neural networks and neural computation
A postdoctoral position is now available to work on this EPSRC funded project "Amorphous Computing, Random Graphs and Complex Biological Systems (AMORPH)". You will work with Netta Cohen ( ) in the Biosystems Group, School of Computing at Leeds. Areas of research include computational modelling, simulations and bio-inspired applications of biological neural networks: from abstract models of development, learning and memory, to the study of rhythms and coordination in simple motor networks in invertebrates. Current research approaches are diverse and based both on experimental data and on abstract modelling and simulations.
