After School Computing Club: Information for Volunteers

UoL Access Academy and CRB Check

In order to work in schools, ALL volunteers MUST have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. To set this in motion, volunteers names will be provided to the Access Academy (in the City and Regional Office Building, 175 Woodhouse Lane, LS2 9JT). You will be contacted to complete an online form with the following information:

The Access Academy will inform you of the next steps.

If you are unable to call into the Access Academy or you were not on the original list or you were on the list and have not heard anything, please contact aschool@comp.leeds.ac.uk for advice or alternatively contact the Access Academy (0113 3433762 / accessacademy@leeds.ac.uk )

The Access Academy runs short courses to introduce tutoring and mentoring in schools in early October which is very useful. It is recommended you attend at least one particularly because the courses also cover issues surrounding child protection which volunteers need to be aware of. You may ask about this when you visit the Access Academy or contact them dorectly for more information.
