I graduated from Manchester University in 2004 with a BSc in Computer Science with Industrial Experience. I then joined the Vision Group here in the School of Computing, at the University of Leeds.
I am researching into developing methods to build a robust and general prediction model for variable length non-deterministic spatio-temporal data. This is being undertaken as a PhD, supervised by Dr Derek Magee.

I designed and programmed an exercise using Lego Mindstorms which ran as part of the Headstart project. I also helped out as a supervisor during the week long event. I have also worked on the After schools project. The project was designed for school children aged between 13 - 18, and it gave students a chance to write a Tetris style game. Each week the students wrote a different piece of the game; introducing them to different aspects of programming and computing. At the end of the 8 sessions they could choose to download their game to their mobile phone, or to just play it via a web browser.
When I am not doing my research I enjoy doing White Water Kayaking. I am a member of Leeds Canoe Club, and picture of me in action is here
