CCALAS is an interdisciplinary research centre at the University of Leeds, bringing together researchers in the Computer Analysis of Language and Speech.

Leeds University is a node in two European Networks of Excellence: ELSNET, the European Language And Speech research network, and ERASMUS staff and student exchange programme in Natural Language Processing.

Leeds is also the home of the AMALGAM project (Automatic Mapping Among Lexico-Grammatical Annotation Models). A full description of the AMALGAM project is available at the AMALGAM Home Page. A description of the AMALGAM tagger is also available in the Resources section of the CCALAS site.

CCALAS is the home for the UK HEFCs-JISC New Technologies Initiative Survey of projects and resources in Knowledge Based Systems and Speech And Language Technology (KBS+SaLT)
