The move towards Network Enabled Capability (NEC) by the UK Ministry of Defence is designed to achieve enhanced [military] effect through the physical networking and coherent integration of existing and future resources including sensors, weapon systems, support services, and decision makers. This will achieve greater agility in the prosecution of military operations through the dynamic integration of services to form systems of systems. The paradigm shift from traditional platform-centric operations to network-enabled operations poses significant challenges for the engineering communities responsible for delivering systems for NEC.
The principal aim of the workshop is to bring together academia and industry to discuss and present ideas on developments in the field of visualization and how this may relate to NEC.
